Chicago Children's Museum

January 21:  Sadie and Marc had the day off for President's Day so we decided to make it a family day and head to the city.  I wanted to take the kids to the Children's Museum at Navy Pier while we still had our membership (Marc reluctantly agreed!)  We packed a lunch and headed downtown...  The museum was a little crowded in the morning but after lunch it was not at all crowded.  We enjoyed our day.

"I Spy Room"

"Tinkering Lab"
Sadie didn't want to do this exhibit so Marc spent some time building with K & M while Sadie and I explored a couple other exhibits.

"Water Ways"
This museum has one of the biggest water play areas--an entire room filled with lots of water play and cute raincoats for the kids to wear!

Lunch time--the museum does not have an eating area but we were able to leave and eat our lunch right next door in the indoor garden room.  It was a fun space for a picnic!

"Cardboard City"
The special exhibit at this time was all about cardboard... I honestly didn't think it would be too impressive, but Sadie (our creator) spent an hour here and would have spent much longer if we wouldn't have urged her to see other things.

 "Climbing Fun"

"Dinosaur Expedition"

Bathroom Break...

"Big Back Yard"

 "Tree House Trails"

Note:  Teacher's, Military, & Service Professionals (police/fire) get in free every day.  They also have free first Sundays (kids under 15 are free) and free family nights (on Thursdays 5--8) everyone is free!  If you're in Chicago--check it out, it's worth it for little ones!
