Tanner's Apple Orchard

This weekend Marc's parents came to visit. On Sunday we went to Tanner's Apple Orchard. This was Sadie's 2nd trip to Tanner's. It was a VERY windy day (and cold) but we had fun! Sadie's favorite part was feeding the goats (I'm sure eating yummy treats was a very close 2nd!) She was a little timid at first, just watching her dad, but once she got the hang of it she didn't want to stop. After she ran out of food, she scoured the ground looking for more to pick up!

I think she tried to pick up every pumpkin sitting on the ground!

We Love Fall!

Fun with the Girls

Yesterday we spent the day at Josh & Steph's seeing some of my girlfriends from LCC. It's so much fun to get together, especially with our children... We had a great day hanging out. There were 6 of us "Big" girls and 5 little girls. We had lunch and Jennifer brought a super cute craft project for us to do. We used the hands of all of the little girls to make fall colored leaves on a tree. We ended up with a cute wall hanging. Here are some pictures from our day!

Sadie loved meeting baby Hannah. (She especially loved pushing her baby swing--not while Hannah was in it!)
Betty & Jennifer are helping the girls paint their hands for our craft.

Sadie & I are getting ready to wash hands... I'm actually impressed at how well she did with this project! No paint on her clothes or in her mouth at all!

Here are the little girls... Hannah, Belle, Grace, Faith, & Sadie. (Lindsey's 2 girls stayed with their grandma.)

Missing Daddy...

Marc left Saturday afternoon for TX. He's gone for the week to banking school. Sadie continues to ask for him. Tonight she went to play with some friends for a couple hours. As soon as she got home, she ran to the stairs and looked up (to where her dad is often on the computer) asking "Dada?" We're both missing him a lot and I know we'll be super excited to see him on Friday! (Sadie will have to wait until Saturday morning b/c he gets home pretty late...)

We've been keeping busy and wanted to share a few pictures with Marc...

This weekend my mom & sister came to stay with us. They got here Friday and stayed until Sunday. Saturday morning Kassie and got pedicures--Sadie also got her 1st pedicure! She loved putting her feet in the water and also sat very nicely while the lady painted her toes (although she's been trying to pick off the polish ever since!) After Sadie was done she got to go shopping with Grandma and brought home a jack-o-lantern balloon that she's been carrying around all week. Saturday afternoon we took Sadie to get her 18 mo. pictures and do some shopping. On Sunday we went to Burgoo--it's a big craft festival held annually on Sunday of Columbus Day weekend. We couldn't believe how crowded it was! It was also pretty hot... My "big" purchase was a Halloween/fall pumpkin decoration that I got to put inside my back door. I also had to get new hair bows for Sadie (I think that's my biggest weakness whenever I go to craft shows!) It's probably good that we're having a boy next!

Monday I was off school. It was nice to spend a relaxing day at home. We went for a long walk and played at the park for about an hour. Monday afternoon I put together Sadie's toddler bed. (I needed to prove that I could do something w/out Marc!) It's in her room now and she's been enjoying reading books (and jumping) on it. I've started letting her say her prayers and sing her song on the bed then I put her in her crib.

We've also been reading LOTS of books! She wants to spend an hour in the rocking chair every night. We finish a book and she signs "more". The Halloween book that her Grandma got her has been a FAVORITE the last couple days!

I really can't complain--she's been pretty good while Marc's been gone, but she still has her occasional time-outs...

These last pictures are from bath time last night. She was cracking me up! I asked her to get her hair wet so we could wash it. She would dip her head in the water and shoot up laughing hysterically. Then she would just look at me and sign "more". This continued for quite some time!

Daddy--we miss you lots! Come home safe... Love, Mommy & Bug

Fall Picnic

Last weekend we attended Hometown Bank's 2nd annual fall picnic. Marc has helped plan and organize this even for the last two years. We had a great time! Some of his co-workers hadn't seen Sadie since last year's picnic and kept commenting on how they remembered passing her around... She was the youngest kid there and had a quite a blast showing off!

These pictures are from Sadie jumping in the big blow-up. It was HUGE and she LOVED it! She kept spinning in circles and trying to imitate the older kids (including trying a cartwheel!) She spent a lot of time in here. She especially enjoyed when her daddy got in to help her try out the BIG slide! (Although the rowdy boys enjoyed Marc's presence more... when he got out they kept calling him a scaredy cat and a little chicken!)

Another part of the day consisted of a wagon ride to a "pumpkin patch" where all of the kids got to pick their own pumpkin. They had all sizes and Sadie enjoyed picking one she could carry all by herself. When we got back to the picnic area they had paints and lots of craft supplies to decorate the pumpkins with.

Sadie enjoyed LOTS of sweets--candy corn, apple cider, a tootsie pop and her first taste of smores! She loved the candy corn and continued to bribe different adults to get her some. She also found several pieces on the ground...

Here's the pumpkin we decorated. Sadie loved the little pompom balls and wanted to put lots of them on her pumpkin.

Playing Dress-Up

One of Sadie's favorite things to do (currently) is to pull ALL of her clothes out of her dresser! She often has an opinion about what she would like to wear for the day (although she's not too picky yet, except about shoes!) She can now succeed at putting on socks and most shoes by herself. She can also put shorts (and some pants) on, but has a hard time pulling them up. She "puts shirts on" but she puts her legs through the head hole. She also asks for bows in her hair if I don't have one to put on. This picture is Sadie trying on several outfits for next summer (with her daddy's help!) She has on three shirts and three bottoms! (The "Miss Independent" shirt is from her Aunt Cori. Her cousin Emmy has a matching one and the phrase describes both of them quite nicely!)
