Vacation... Part 1

Over 4th of July weekend we took a mini-vacation! My parents got a villa at Grand Bear Lodge. This was perfect for us because it's only about a 20 minute drive from Streator. We stayed for two nights with my parents and Kassie. We played LOTS at the water park, watched fireworks, played at the indoor amusement park, celebrated Kassie's birthday, played games, and hiked... 4th of July--it's still hard to get a family pic (but doesn't Sadie look adorable?)

The resort has a trolley that drives you back and forth between the villas, the water park, and the amusement park. We got to ride it several times--the kids loved it!

The water park was perfect for our kiddos! There were several different little water slides that they could do. There was one that we could take them down on our laps. There was also a wave pool and a real shallow baby pool that was warm like a bath tub!

The resort had fireworks on Saturday night (July 3) so we watched those. We ended up waiting for over 30 minutes and Kinnick was not a fan of that part. When the fireworks started, he was semi-interested. Sadie loved them and Macey liked the lights.

We started 4th of July with a big breakfast and a little church service in our villa. Sadie liked picking the songs. We went for a walk to the outdoor playground, but it was VERY hot, so the kids didn't last too long. We took them to the indoor amusement park for awhile then put them down for naps and then went to the water park. We spent a couple hours swimming then finished the night with some take-out and dominoes. It was a great day!

We ended the day with a picnic before saying Good-Bye to G-pa, G-ma, and Aunt Kassie. It was a perfect vacation weekend!
