Imaginary Friends

For some time now, Sadie has enjoyed playing with and talking to her imaginary friends on a regular basis. I believe it started not too long after her cousins from CO were her. She continued to play with and talk to her cousin Emmy for awhile. Over the next several weeks she introduced us to her many of her new friends!

Madison is her best (and most frequent) friend. Fun facts about Madison: She lives in Streator, her mom's name is Molly, she has a dog named Wrigley (and he looks just like our Wrigley!), she loves going to the dentist and wearing beautiful dresses to church, she does not like her mom to fix her hair, and she is SO FUNNY! More regulars include Carson (a girl), Addy, and Connor.

Sadie enjoys many fun conversations and activities w/ her friends... here are a few:
  • She regularly has to call them (with my cell phone) first thing in the morning to see what they are doing. If they do not answer she says "Mom, Madison didn't answer, I'm just going to send her a text" then proceeds to do so!
  • They go out to eat a lot. They like to eat at Turtles (this is a restaurant we really like to go to and Sadie thinks it has a funny name). Another favorite place to eat is Disney World. Last night... "Mom me and my friends went to the pet store after we got done eating dinner at Disney World." I wonder just what she thinks Disney World is...
  • They are frequently in the car with us when we go on trips. They tell her funny stories. On the way to TN, Madison told Sadie that the pop top on her water bottle was called a "Dinosaur Top"--Sadie thought this was hysterical and laughed for over 30 minutes about it.
  • She will often ask to pack her suitcase because they are taking a trip together. They like to go stay the night in hotels.
  • Last week at pre-school they played football together (she told us this one during the superbowl!) She told her friends that they needed to wear helmets so they would be safe.
  • Yesterday they went camping together. Sadie hurt her foot and she has a little "owie" but she will be okay.
  • These pictures are from a Sunday morning when she decided to pack a picnic lunch for her friends. She packed every yogurt that was in our fridge along with a few other selections. She took her picnic to the toy corner:
I am loving her imagination and her creativity. So far none of her friends have gotten her into trouble or asked her to do anything naughty (although Conner has had to go to jail before because he was being bad). I love my little girl so much and trying to treasure all the memories as she grows!
