Macey--2 Months

Macey was two months old on Thursday! She's getting bigger and changing all the time... Here are some of her two month facts:
  • At her Dr. apt. on Friday she weighed 10 lbs. 1 oz. and was 23 inches long. She also got her 1st shots (Marc took her because I couldn't take off work and he was not a big fan!)
  • She loves to talk and smile at us. Her most smiley times are usually right after eating. I usually get to enjoy her smiles first thing in the morning and right before bed.
  • She eats 6 times per day--every 3 hours from 5:30 AM (sometimes 4:30) until 8:30 PM.
  • I went back to work this past Monday so she takes her 8:30 morning bottle and 2:30 afternoon bottle at Ms. Jennifer's--she's doing well with this! I get to nurse her on my lunch break.
  • She is doing very well with her sleep routines. She goes to sleep by herself (usually with no crying) around 8:30--9:00 and usually wakes up around 4:30--5:00. I would like this to be a little later, but it works.
  • She rolls from her tummy to her back--at least every other day, sometimes a few times per day.
  • She likes to sit in her chair on the kitchen counter and watch me cook (or look out the window.)
  • She usually cries when we put her in the bathtub, but calms down right away to enjoy her bath.
We love our little Macey Kay... A few Sundays ago I was working in Kinnick's classroom at church. The nursery is right next door and we took Macey for the first time. At one point, she started crying and Kinnick ran to the classroom door pointing and saying "Macey!" It was very cute.

Easter!

I have a feeling that family pictures are going to be a bit tricky for the next couple years...

We had a great Easter. We spent Saturday night at my parents' house and were up bright and early for sunrise service (at 6:00!) I was quick to point out that our kids and my nephew were the only children there under 5! Sadie thought it was pretty cool to go to church when it was still dark outside and talked about it several times this week. We enjoyed the service and pancake breakfast that followed. We were back to Grandma & Grandpa's house (my parents) a little after 7:00 to do some hunting for Easter baskets.

Sadie was much better at searching this year--she had fun!

I was so busy following Sadie around that before I knew it, Kinnick had his basket also!

Sadie liked showing off her new goodies.

Kinnick also had a good time checking out his basket.

These cute glasses were from Uncle Jack and Aunt Jessica. Kinnick wanted nothing to do with them and Sadie has been wearing hers and Kinnick's all week!

Macey had some help finding her baskets from big sister!

Cutest little Easter bunny ever! (These ears were in Sadie's Easter basket the last 2 years and now they've been passed on.)
After enjoying Easter basket goodies we had some time to relax before getting ready for church. Macey and Kinnick both napped and we talked to Sadie about why we celebrate Easter (more on that later...) Sadie was so excited to get her Easter dress on that she ran to our suticase as soon as we got home from sunrise... When it was finally time she was very happy.
I didn't get any picture of the 3 kids together, but I managed to get a few shots of each them individually:
Aunt Jessica fixed Sadie's hair. She was excited to wear this headband that she picked out all by herself!

We managed to click a few shots of the cousins after church--this was the best one! (Jaren-3, Jadyn-7, Sadie-3, Macey-7 weeks, Kinnick-1)

After church we went to my aunt & uncle's house for dinner and an easter hunt for the great-grand kids. They had a good time and we enjoyed the beautiful weather.

This was about 5 minutes after leaving for home... a busy, fun-filled day!

Thank You Colorado Cousins!

We usually don't get to celebrate birthdays with Jaren & Emery but they always make her birthday special by mailing gifts... I wanted to let them see Sadie opening her presents from them. She was so excited when her BIG box came in the mail!

She loved her cards from both Jaren & Emery. (As you can see Emmy is a pink & purple girl like Sadie!)

These are some fun shirts and bows that Aunt Cori picked out--Sadie loved them because they had cake. She said "I have 3 birthday shirts!"

I asked Sadie what she wanted to tell her cousins...
Sadie: "Thank you Jaren & Emmy & Aunt Cori & Uncle Nathan for all my presents. I love my little Einstein game! I really like my cute shirts. Do you want to play my new game with me?"

Birthday Party

We had a family party for Sadie at my parents' house on Saturday night. We grilled and had a great time together. Sadie entertained us with her many outfit changes (I believe she totaled 7 different outfits during her party!)

This was her "special birthday outfit"--a shirt from cousin Emery and a new tutu!

Sadie & Jaren--Jaren was so cute, he waited patiently the whole time I tried to get a goo picture of Sadie and then asked if he could have his picture taken too!

Sadie--ready and excited to open her presents!
Sadie loves the cake that Aunt Jessica made for her (it matched the Tinkerbell plates she picked out for this party!)
Cake Time! This was one of her many outfits--a new leotard and skirt with a princess crown and wand from Uncle Jordan and Aunt Kassie. I know she will get lots of use from this--she dresses up every day!

Eating cake--Wrigley's trying to get some too.

Kinnick was a big fan of his cake and even got a little ice cream too!

Easter Eggs

We decorated eggs on Friday night. I decided to wait one more year before letting Kinnick help. Sadie had fun...

We were pretty simple this year. We did one egg for each member of our family. Sadie picked what color each person would be, I helped her with the letters and she decorated them.

Sadie was determined that "making Easter eggs" would result in a super yummy treat. She even asked if we could put icing and sprinkles on them. When we were finished, she peeled her pink egg and tasted it. Turns out that it wasn't quite as yummy as she thought it would it be! I asked her to make a face that showed me what the egg tasted like and this is what she did!

The next day, Aunt Kassie helped Jaren and Sadie decorate a few more eggs--they had stickers which Sadie thought was a great idea.

Chuck E. Cheese Party

This was Sadie's 2nd trip to Chuck E. Cheese and she had a blast. Kinnick had a great time as well! (He wasn't walking the 1st time we went...)
