Princess Dress Shopping

My sister Jessica was recently engaged. Last weekend we had the fun opportunity of going wedding dress shopping with her. Sadie really had a blast (she pretty much thought she was the center of attention!) I loved watching her excitement over trying on the dresses. At one point my Mom made a comment about it soon being Kassie's turn then Sadie's turn... It seems like so far away, but I know it will go fast!
Sadie loved standing on the pedestal and looking in the big mirrors.

Kisses!

Sadie LOVES shoes--she did pretty good in these heels!

Out to lunch with my Mom & sisters (and little Einsteins!)

Kinnick after a long day of shopping with all the girls... Doesn't he look cute in his bear outfit? I love it!
PS--she did find a dress but I can't post a picture of it yet :)

Snow Days!

School was cancelled Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of last week due to snow/cold weather. (Mostly cold weather!) Not bad for my first full week back! (and we had today off for MLK day.) We enjoyed our days at home. We didn't venture out much... I had to Kinnick to the Dr. Thursday for a weight check and we also ran to the grocery store to get some ingredients for a cake. On Friday one of Sadie's friends came over to play for awhile. Other than that, we had a lot of time to play!

Day1: The kids helped me do some laundry and cleaning.

Sadie loves to help mop and vacuum. She cleaned her room with her play vacuum cleaner, then she helped me mop!

Sadie also helped me make some meals to freeze...

Sadie loves to make sure Kinnick is always covered up--she is even willing to share her blankie!

Kinnick relaxing in his seat... Sadie always makes sure he has a paci!
Sadie LOVES to get her toenails done. She likes me to clip them, file them, paint them, and of course--put lotion on her feet! We have fun together...

Day 2: We made a cake for Grandpa Paul for his birthday--can you guess what kind?

Day 3: Sadie loves playing play-doh! She seems to be concentrating awful hard.

She insisted on her "princess dress" (aka--barbie nightgown) all day Friday!

Kinnick's Room

We worked on painting Sadie's new room today. We are anticipating moving her in the next few weeks. In the meantime, we've been working on picking out things for Kinnick's room. This the bedding we choose!

New Toys!

I can't believe how much Sadie is loving her new toys! Our toy situation was still pretty under control after last Christmas and her 1st birthday--now it's starting to seem overwhelming! (It will help when we get her "big girl" room finished and she can move some of her new toys in there!) Sadie is more than happy to share her toys with Kinnick (at least now that he doesn't really care about them...) but when friends (& cousins) come to play she is a little more possesive...

She LOVES her new kitchen along with her shopping cart and play food. This is the Chef's outfit that Mommy picked out for her--she likes to wear it when she pretends and when she helps me cook!

She absolutely LOVES puzzels. She got this chunky shape puzzel from Aunt Cori and Uncle Nathan. She also got a chunky animal puzzel from us--she loves them both. I almost feel bad that I didn't get her puzzels sooner...

This is her rocking horse from Grandma & Grandpa Gorsch--she can get pretty crazy on it. (We have come to the conclusion that she is going to like amusement parks when she gets bigger!)

Some of her favorite things not pictured include: a mini vacuum (she enjoys helping Mommy clean!), a Princess "Look & Find" book (we seriously read this 10+ times a day), a princess car, her Fridge Phonics (she loves to play the ABC song!), a farm See & Say, and a Magna Doodle.

Smiles!

Kinnick was a month old on Christmas day... I can't believe how fast he's changing and getting bigger! The first picture was taken on Dec. 30th (the day after his first social smiles). The pics in yellow are from last week. Kinnick loves to coo and smile at just about anyone who wants to talk to him!

I started back to work last Monday. Last week I worked 1/2 days (afternoons). Yesterday was my first full day and Kinnick is 7 weeks old today. I can't believe how fast my time off went--I'm already looking forward to summer!! Kinnick and Sadie are both doing well at Miss. Jennifer's. (Sadie absolutely loves going there and loves her friends!) I'm doing well also--starting to get back into the swing of things. I'm going to feed Kinnick on my lunch hour and I really look forward to this time each day! (I did the same for Sadie until she turned 1...) I'm glad we have Monday off--I need a day off after my 1st full week!
