Christmas Eve

December 24:  Christmas Eve at our house was laid back... I love Christmas Eve morning!  Marc typically has to work and I usually get up early to finish wrapping any presents that still need done (usually Marc's!).  I love starting the day with a fire, a yummy hot drink, and Christmas music.  When the kids get up we spend the day in our PJ's.  For the 2nd year we started our Christmas Eve morning with Snowman pancakes.  The kids LOVE doing this!  Because our church has service on Christmas Eve-Eve and our families are too far away we have had no plans for the last many Christmas Eve's--we love being able to make our own plans each year.  One year was sledding, another year was a Christmas movie Marathon, last year we took a surprise trip to Legoland.  This year we were pretty laid back... legos, games, a movie night and ALWAYS--junk food.  The junk food is a tradition from my parents' house.  Growing up, we always went to Christmas Eve service and came home to a junk food feast and games.  Of course, we ended our night with cookies and milk for Santa and opening the first present.  Each Christmas Eve the kids get a new book (usually a Christmas book) and we read them together before bed.
