First Day of School!

August 20th:  I can't believe I sent TWO kids to school this year, half way done with "first" first days of school... *tear*  Sadie started second grade and Kinnick started Kindergarten this year.  Both kids have amazing teachers and they are both doing REALLY well.  I couldn't be more proud!

"Wants to be a Police Officer"

"Wants to be a Doctor or a Teacher"

Kinnick & his buddy Ben (next door neighbor).  They both started Kindergarten, but not in the same class.

Traditional "First Day" Celebration Ice Cream!

Back To School...

August 18th:  The kids had their "Meet & Greet" day at school.  This is always an exciting day as they get to meet their teachers, see their classrooms, and find out what friends are in their classes.  Marc and I have fun seeing their world...

Blackberry Farm

August 12:  During the first week of summer vacation, we took a trip to Blackberry Farm but we did not get to do everything we wanted.  It was crowded so we decided we wanted to go back again before school started.  We went on a free day again but it was a cool day and not near as crowded.  We enjoyed doing and seeing more.  Sadie invited a friend from school.  We rode the carousel, went on a paddle boat ride, played at the playground, rode the zip line, went on a train ride, enjoyed a picnic lunch, visited the old school house, went for a horse drawn wagon ride, and visited an 1800's farm house and a log cabin.  The house and cabin had actors that were demonstrating old time living and talking to the kids.  On the way home we stopped for ice cream.  Blackberry Farm will definitely be on our "Summer Bucket List" for years to come!

Beach Trip

August 2:  This year for our beach trip (to Indiana Dunes State Park) we were joined by some college friends.  The kids had SO much fun playing together.  For the first time this year we climbed to the top of the Dunes (well, Steph and I did with the kids... the boys kept the babies).  It was much harder then I thought, but worth the awesome view and the fun running down.  We made a day of it--packed a lunch and stopped for some dinner before we headed home.
