Kinnick's Special Day

When Sadie turned 4, we loved having a special date day with her--we loved it so much we decided to make it a 4-year-old tradition in our house (and I'm glad we get to do 2 more times!)  Kinnick's birthday was on a Sunday this year.  We started our day with cinnamon rolls and a couple birthday presents from his sisters.
After church, some friends of ours took the girls so we could have Kinnick for a whole afternoon of birthday boy fun!  We started with lunch at Red Lobster--his pick!  After lunch we headed to the mall for shopping.  We had fun taking Kinnick in the toy store and the Disney store all by himself.  We didn't get anything, but he had so much fun just looking.
Next stop--Build-a-Bear!  He choose this brown puppy in about 2 minutes.  It was such a different experience then when we took Sadie.  He choose his dog and he choose the Captain America outfit in less than 5 minutes total.  He didn't change his mind and we didn't spend an hour looking at every item in the store...  The boy knows what he wants!  My favorite part about him choosing this dog (instead of a bear) was that he said "Mom, Macey loves dogs.  I picked a dog so she will love it."  He is so sweet to his sisters, one of the many things I love about him!
Filling up his bear--he wanted to put LOTS of stuffing in it.
Next he gave his dog a bath and brushed it's hair.
He immediately loved this "Captain America" outfit.  I thought it was perfect for my little superhero.
Dad helped him make a birth certificate for his new friend.  Kinnick named him "Doggy Dog" and he share Kinnick's birthday--November 25th.
Kinnick was very excited about his dog's gingerbread house (complete with stickers to use to decorate it.)  Sadie promptly took over the decorating of Doggy Dog's house that evening.
We finished off our date day with a special treat.  Kinnick still asks me if we can go to the mall and get another one of those yummy milkshakes!  I love this little man so much--can't believe how big he's getting!
