YMCA Basketball

January/February:  All three kiddos played on basketball team through our local YMCA this past winter.  Although it was a bit crazy having them on three different teams (3 practices per week and 3 games every Saturday) it was a great program.  The kids learned a lot and had a lot of fun.  They all want to play basketball again this year!
MACEY:
Macey is our "leftie".  She had a lot of fun playing basketball for the first time!  She loved having her turn to play point guard and of course made some new friends on her team.

KINNICK:
Kinnick was so excited to basketball for the second time.  He played two years ago but last year he missed out because his age group did not fill up so they cancelled it and by then it was too late to sign up for a different league.  He joined a team of boys who mostly all knew each other and had already played together.  It didn't slow him down, he got to know his teammates and his coach consistently praised him for his hustle.

SADIE:
Sadie was the only girl on her team.  She had one boy from her class at school as a teammate.  She had an awesome coach who really taught the kids so much about the game.  He was good at motivating them and letting them have fun at every practice and every game.  Sadie loved fixing her hair and getting ready for games.  She worked hard and finished the season excited about basketball and wanting to play again.  This year she is switching leagues to play on an all girls team.

Awards & Team Pictures:

We took cookies to share with all three teams!

Celebration Brunch at Matty's after our last Saturday of Games

The Y organized an end of the season party for the kids at Haunted Trails (a local amusement place).  They had pizza and soda for everyone and families could stay and play... it was a fun night!
