June 30th: We had an entire day of celebrating our favorite two year old on his birthday. We started our day by taking Carver to Ball Factory (a huge indoor play area with lots of fun things to do!) Marc had to work so we invited Sarah & Callen to come with us. We packed a lunch and we spent the day playing. We ended with some gelato.
Next up we had a pool party to celebrate the birthday boy! Our church does a fundraising Gala each year and last February Marc and I purchased a birthday pool party package from an awesome couple that attends our church. They hosted the pool party and provided cake, party favors, and decorations. It was so nice--all we had to do was show up! We invited our small group to party with us. The evening was a bit cool but their heated pool felt amazing and we swam until after dark!
We had such a full day on Carv's birthday that we didn't get to give him his present until the next day. The whole family watched as he took his new bike for a test drive (or walk). We got him a "Strider" bike (aka-balance bike). After reading lots of reviews I really thought he would like this. He is always wanting to get on the big bikes and always trying to keep up with his brother and sisters. It took him awhile to get the hang of it but by the time school started up in the fall he was cruising on his bike so well that I had to jog to keep up with him. He absolutely loves his bike--it was absolutely worth every penny!
