Museum of S & I

October 8, 2016:  More fun at the Museum of Science & Industry with our family pass...  I loved that we got to go so many times that we really got to explore EVERYTHING!  There are lots of "extra" things that cost additional money... normally we don't do things like that when we are already paying admission to something, but having the pass gave us discounted & free tickets,  as well as lots of opportunities to visit so we could try something new each time.  We had so much fun every time we went!  This trip we tried out the mirror maze, built a toy at the toy factory, watched a movie about National Parks in the Omnimax, and toured the U-57 Submarine!

Student Council

October, 2016:  I couldn't be more proud of this girl!  She decided to run for student council at her school (a privilege reserved for 4th grade students only!)  This involved coming up with a slogan, making a campaign poster, and giving a campaign speech in front of the entire 3rd and 4th grades.  The speeches were limited to 1 minute  because Sadie's class had the most kids ever running for student council!  After their speeches they make a greeting line and are allowed to hand out a small token to their voters... Sadie's campaign slogan was "Don't be Wild... Vote for me, Sadie G" and she passed out animal stickers.  She worked hard on her speech, both writing it and practicing it.

They give their speeches on a Friday morning, students vote, and student council is announced at the end of the day... I remember that Friday being such a long day because I was thinking of her constantly!  When I walked to meet the kids after school, I saw her walking toward me looking very downcast.  When I asked her what was wrong (thinking she didn't get chosen) she told me "I'm really sad that Abby didn't make student council."  Even though she did, she was thinking of her friends.  I love her heart and her go-getter attitude.  I know she will do big things!  She loved being on STUCO--helping with events, planning service opportunities, helping with sctuco store, and working to make her school a better place.

Vance Turns 1!

October 1, 2016:  We had such a fun trip to stay with my sister and help her prepare for Vance's first birthday.  Everything was absolutely adorable from the naked cake to the little buffalo plaid shirts worn by Henry & Vance.  The kids had a blast in the bounce house and playing with their cousins.  I had fun making some lumberjack themed cookies for the occasion (and enjoyed getting cake pops from my dear friend Sarah!)  I absolutely love first birthday celebrations.  I enjoyed taking pictures of Vance as he loved every bit of his cake smash...

Family Camp

September 3-5, 2016:  Our 2nd annual trip to family camp with the Casey family... we have such an amazing time at Little Galilee camp... ziplining, giant swing, fishing, canoeing, swimming, games, snacks, playing, rock wall climbing, just BEING together... it's a perfect get away mix of relaxing and fun.  And of course, the weekend is not complete without eating ALOT of pizza at Monicals!
