September 28: We enjoyed one last summer fling before heading into Fall... we took the kids to their first MLB game to see... the White Sox. No, we haven't converted, we are still Cubs fans (except Sadie who is a self-proclaimed White Sox fan); however, some friends introduced to the White Sox "Kids Club" and free is a great price for MLB tickets! It's completely free to sign up for Kids Club and each child (including Carver) got 3 free tickets (to be redeemed at a long list of available games) along with lots of cool white sox stuff including tattoos. We cashed all our tickets in for one game and invited Todd & Jennifer to come with us. We tail gated before the game and had a blast. I will admit that the White Sox do things right for the kids and they put on a great fireworks show! US Cellular has a "Fundamentals" deck dedicated completely to kids. The kids can practice pitching, take batting practice, visit a "locker room" and play a few other games. The kids were mesmerized by how high up we were.
Perfect weather--not too hot, not too cold. We had a great time and will for sure be signing up for Kids Club in the future! Go Chicago... even if it isn't the Cubs!
