Waterfall Glen

June 15, 2016:  There's nothing we like more than some hiking/exploring in the summer time... and we love to do it with LOTS of friends!  It's hard to coordinate summer schedules but we always try to plan some fun mom tribe outings during the summer.  For this one, we journeyed to "Waterfall Glenn", a local forest preserve with a small waterfall that is perfect for kids to play in.  We had got wet, we got muddy, and we had a blast!  I would be lost without this awesome women by my side week in and week out.  We are all so thankful for this amazing friendship we have formed and our kiddos are just along for the ride!

Our group is a little beyond the "selfie" size!

Strawberry Fields Forever

June 14, 2016:  We have loved picking strawberries for a couple years now at the cutest little berry farm.  It's called Olive Berry Acres.  Picking season is always the beginning of June and the berries go fast.  We try to pick a day on our first or second week of break to pick ours.  The kids did an awesome job this year and we mad it a fun family competition.

Summer Reading

June 11, 2016:  We love us some summer reading time!  Our library is the BEST and they always have a HUGE kick-off party to start the summer reading program.  You can't beat free popcycles and jumpies!  Throw in a petting zoo, some fun characters, a firetruck, and cotton candy and it's a great day!  We took our neighbor with us to enjoy the fun (Carver gets to go to story time with her all the time during the school year!)

Potty Training--Take 4

June 2016:  Potty training was NEVER my favorite parenting job but I suppose it is necessary...  Even the 4th time around, it was hard work!  This boy was almost three but he got it figured out.  Of course we used the tried and true timer with lots of book and of course some bribery candy!

Visit with the Caseys

June 8-9, 2016:  We were lucky enough to start off our summer with a visit to the Casey's and some St. Louis fun!  Tim was gone on a mission trip to the Ukraine so the kids and I made the trip to hang out with Liz, Hannah, & Cameron.  We had a fast but fun-filled couple days.  We spent a day playing at the park and going to the pool.  In the evening Liz and I had a sitter to sneak out for a movie (Me Before You--a book we both read!).  The next day we were able to take a trip to Grant's Farm (the first time for my kids!)  After our day of fun we had to hit the road to make it back in time for Kinnick's baseball game.  Liz is such a special friend and I love that our kiddos are building a friendship too!
Park Time:

Pool:

The kids rode bikes/scooters to the pool!

The boys bunked with me in Cam's room and the girls stayed with Hannah.
Grant's Farm:
The kids loved Grant's Farm.  It was nice to go on a week day, not too busy.  The highlight was feeding the baby goats (I remember doing this when I was little).  They also loved seeing the Clydesdales.

Buddies!

Yeah for summer fun with great friends!
